It really was a different time.

It can be easy to forget just how recently women were treated as second class citizens. They didn’t even get the right to vote until 1919 (not including women of color, who didn’t get that right until the 60s), and even until the 70s, women weren’t always able to get a credit card or file sexual harassment claims.
