Is Shein Putting Trackers in Influencers’ Clothes?
Wake up, kids — a new conspiracy theory has dropped!
The people of TikTok hold two things dear: conspiracies and fast fashion. While plenty on the app will tell you about the dangers of both, they just can’t help succumbing to them. I mean, what are we going to do, not buy a $2 T-shirt — and not question why there was a pedophile multimillionaire with his own island?!?!
One of the conspiracies that frequently gets peddled on TikTok is the danger that you, as a random person living your life, will be kidnapped and trafficked. Ignoring the fact that this happens so rarely that you’re probably wasting your time worrying about it happening to you, the methods these TikTokers claim that traffickers are using are pretty absurd. No one is zip-tying your car door at Target!
That said, I have no idea what happened here, even if the comments really make viewers want to believe there’s a massive trafficking plot at play. In short, this woman received a package from SHEIN, only to discover that a tracking device had been sewn into her clothes.
She insists that she’s not lying, but why the hell would the company put a $30 tracking tag in an item that likely costs less than $10? Make it make sense!
