Coachella DJ Performs for Empty VIP Event

Despite Louis the Child’s status as former Coachella headliners, penchant for selling out shows and storied reputation as one of EDM’s most consistently decent live acts, the duo recently managed to engage a brand new audience — one that consisted of absolutely no one.

This past weekend, the group — consisting of Robby Hauldren and Freddy Kennett —  took a break from cheering on the Las Vegas Golden Knights (you’re from Chicago, my guys) to DJ a private event adjacent to the 2023 Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival.

Yet instead of hitting the stage to find a crowd of adoring fans, the pair played to a largely empty field and few rogue influencers glued to their phones. “When louis the child is playing rn and all the influencers are too busy taking their content to realize???” TikToker @itsbcat captioned a clip of Louis the Child’s energetic, yet hilariously under-attended performance.

Despite the very sparse crowd, the duo took their performance in stride. “Private events am I right?” they wrote beneath @itsbcat’s post.

It definitely doesn’t get any more private than a concert for one.
