Do you know how long it's been since the last time the Chicago Cubs won a World Series? Let's just say the world has changed a lot since they did, and this year it looks as if they may break their 100-year-old curse.

The last time the Chicago cubs won a world series was in 1908. Many sports conspiracy theorists believe this is due to the Curse of the Billy Goat, which started in 1945 when, Billy Goat Tavern owner, Billy Sianis was asked to leave game 4 of the World Series against the Detroit Tigers at Wrigley Field because the odor of his pet goat Murphy was bothering fans. Sianis was so outraged that he declared, “Them Cubs, they ain’t gonna win no more”, and guess what, he was right. Now here we are, more than 100 years later and still no World Series title for the Cubs even though they have played in seven series since there win in 1908. So to commemorate the Cubs’ great season and their newest chance at ending a 100 years old cruse, here is a list of all the things that have happened since their last win in 1908. -

The Titanic was launched (1911), sunk (1912) and was discovered again (1985). -

Ronald Regan was born (1911), served as President (1981-1989) and died (2004). -

The collapse of the Ottoman Empire. (1914) -
5.
WWI (1914-1918) and WWII (1939 to 1945). -
6.
Prohibition was put into place (1920) and repealed (1933). -

The electronic television created. (1927) -
8.
The start of night time baseball. (1935) -
9.
The creation of the state of Israel. (1948) -
10.
Alaska, Arizona, Hawaii, Oklahoma and New Mexico were added to the union. -

A combination of 40 Winter and Summer Olympics. -

Sixteen presidents were elected and served. -
13.
Neil Armstrong and Buzz Aldrin landed on the moon. (1969) -

Haley's comet passed Earth not once but twice. -
